Acacias and Singing
A rugged attraction is growing and pulling at me here. Every resource from plant, to animal, to person, has to be guarded. We have thorn bushes and we have spikes on our gate. But there is a beauty that lives in this hard land.
My motivation to witness
Will the day come that we send Lucas off to Congo as a short-term missionary? I hope so. But if it does, my heart won’t jump because he’s bound for Africa. It’ll jump because he bound for heaven!
Loss and Lostness are at my door
We cried along with them, partly for their tragic loss and partly for their state of lost-ness. How little hope they have without the knowledge of what Christ has done for them!

I went over to Mercy first, she avoided eye contact with me and so I sat on the bed next to her and gently patted her badly scarred arms and hands. I introduced myself as Aunty Sue and I looked into the eyes of child filled with deep pain. I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing down my face, I just couldn’t help the overwhelming emotions that I felt. I asked her if she could be my friend, I shared with her I was new to Kenya and feeling a bit lonely and I really needed to have a special friend, she smiled back and said yes
